PUTRAJAYA, June 26 — The former chairman of a religious group in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, lost his appeal to set aside his conviction for living on the earnings of four Thai prostitutes, but succeeded in having his sentence reduced from eight years’ jail to five years.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 11 — The Court of Appeal today upheld the decision of a High Court in ordering a 22-year-old man (PKK1) to be detained at the pleasure of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, after finding him guilty of the murder of 23 people in a fire at Pusat Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz in 2017.
